I like your list and enjoyed seeing the slang that you say in your country. How would you use “crikey” in a sentence though? I like the photos you added too.

  4.   Matthew K. Tabor Says:

Everyone I know loved watching Steve Irwin on TV. He was a great representative of your country and I’m happy to see that you’re proud of him. We all learned so much from watching his shows!

  5.   Nancy McKeand Says:

I have always really enjoyed Australian slang. I am glad that you included some in your list/

    Hey, Yabby,

This is such a great post, for now I can learn more about your uniqueness as aussies. I was curious about the slang you mentioned. I have no idea what it means.

I also wanted to know more about your spread vegimite. What is it made of? I must confess that the name is not very attractive, though…

Thanks for making me a more informed world citizen! From a Brazilian!

  7.   Ann Oro Says:

Do you enjoy Vegemite? I’ve never tasted it, but I remember if from the lyrics in an old song by Men at Work. What happens on Anzac Day?

    To Carla Arena,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. Well, the word slang is mentioned so for example, hello would be g’day.

Also the spread Vegemite isn’t that great. I don’t really like it. All I know is that it has a huge amount of salt. I can tell you that.

Thank you for commenting on my blog, Carla Arena.

    from yabby :) ;)

    @Ann Oro

Thank you for commenting on my blog. Well, Vegemite to me is awful. All I know is that it’s mainly made out of salt.
Also the old ad I think was for Smiths Chips.

Well on Anzac Day we have a little celebration. We don’t really celebrate that much. All we do is eat Anzac biscuits.

Thanks again for taking up your time to write to me,
    from yabby.

Never knew that there was an official Anzac Day! Now, I’m going to promote the following days in America:

    1. Chocolate Cake Day
    2. Ice Cream Sundae Week (one day won’t cut it!)
